Seven Springs Mountain Resort

Champion, Pennsylvania.

The day’s agenda begins with registration in the pro shop and breakfast in the club house. Everyone will then be asked to take their seats in the main grille room for the introduction of the keynote presentation by Pro Football Alumnus of the day, Merril Hoge.

Guided by his life philosophy, “Find A Way”, Merril Hoge played in the NFL for 8 years with the Pittsburgh Steelers and Chicago Bears, worked at ESPN for 21 years, and survived career-ending head trauma, cancer and open heart surgery! These successes and challenges have helped Merril inspire others to persevere in the face of adversity along with achieving success. A leading advocate for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, The American Heart Association and Safety in Sports, Merril is an active contributor to shaping the communications regarding head trauma in all sports. He is also the chairman of the board of the Caring Place, a center for grieving children and their families that have lost a loved one, and the author of Find A Way: Three Words That Changed My Life.

Following the keynote speech we will conduct a brief safety meeting and then everyone will depart to their golf carts and assigned shooting stations. The event will field 22 groups, each comprised of four participants who will travel along a 15-station course and shoot 100 clay targets. Nonalcoholic drinks and snacks will be provided for all the participants on the course.

As soon as each team completes the course they will need to turn in their score cards and travel back to the club house for lunch in the main grille room. Scores will be calculated and the team photos with Merril Hoge will also be completed throughout the lunch break. Every member of a shooting team will get an opportunity during the team photo session to have Merril Hoge sign the football they received at check in.

Prior to the start of the awards presentation, Bill Lambert, Chairman and CEO of MSA, will address everyone in attendance, and then introduce Joe Milharcic, Executive Director of the Woodlands Foundation, who will give a short introduction on the mission and goals of the nonprofit organization.

Trophies will then be awarded to the men’s and women’s individual high score shooters as well as the highest scoring first, second and third place teams. Every shooter will also receive one ticket for every prize that will be drawn following the awards presentation. Prizes will include everything from gift certificates for golf, restaurants and retail stores as well as shotguns, hunting equipment and outdoor recreational items.
