On June 22, 2019, Shell Chemical Appalachia teamed up with Pro Football Alumni to host its second annual Community Awards Gala. This gala benefits the Beaver County community by recognizing some of their outstanding residents.

Hall of Famer and Beaver County’s own, Joe Namath, received the Lifetime Achievement Award to celebrate his work as a football player, actor, and philanthropist. Having gone to Beaver Falls High School, this gala hits home for Namath.

The theme of the night was giving back and recognizing the organizations, businesses and individuals that came together in order to help Beaver County residents and non-profit organizations.

The award presentations included awards for female and male student of the year and educator of the year. Jenna Chirichetti, valedictorian of Beaver Falls High School, was named Female Student of the Year. Jacob Ujhazy, 16-year-old valedictorian of Hopewell High School, was named Male Student of the Year. Brian Wargo, Freedom Area School District science teacher, won Educator of the Year. In addition to these awards, the Home Depot Foundation presented their Veteran Housing Grant to a Beaver County Vietnam War Veteran, Lee Corfield.

This gala gives us the opportunity to connect with our supporters and gives us a sense of community. It allows us to connect with Beaver County and learn from its residence.

We have to thank everyone that came and supported this cause. We thank you for your support and generosity that made the second year better than the first. We are looking forward to an even better gala next year!
