The Third annual Sporting Clays Charity Classic was a day locked and loaded with fun and excitement!
On September 23, 2019, the Safety Company and Pro Football Alumni teamed up at Seven Springs Mountain Resort for another year to support The Woodlands Foundation. The Woodlands Foundation helps enrich the lives of children and adults with disability and chronic illnesses are enables participants to experience social, cultural, environment, recreational and spiritual growth.
We were lucky enough this year to host Pro Football Alumni, Chris Hoke, as our keynote speaker. Hoke, a former NFL defensive lineman, has done sports commentary on both television and radio since his retirement in 2011. Hoke volunteers by working in his church as well as the Cancer Caring Center.
Following Hoke’s speech and a safety briefing, it was time to hop into the golf carts and spend the day shooting their way through a 100-target round on one of the premier sporting clay courses in the country. Sport shooting offers the closest reality to in-the-field hunting. The different stations may be set up with the clay bird on the ground while others may have the clay bird traveling far away from the shooter.
Lunch was served on the deck of the clubhouse while participants were encouraged to laugh and chat with Chris Hoke. It was a lovely day to make memories and to have a nice laugh. Trophies and different prizes that included, shotguns, hunting equipment and outdoor gear, were awarded at the end of the event.
We want to thank everyone who came out and helped us raise money for The Woodlands Foundation and for making this another great year at the Sporting Clays Charity Classic. We are looking forward to next year!
